The index is a number on your electricity or gas meter that indicates the number of kWh (for electricity) or m3 (for gas) consumed.


This index is very important for your subscription because it determines the reference consumption from which your energy supplier will bill each kWh / m3 consumed.


For a contract subscribed in Full Hours / Off Hours, there are two indexes to be recorded, unlike the contract in Hours Base with a single index.


The index corresponds to:


  • either real consumption in the case of meters communicating such Linky or following a succession of a technician ENEDIS with other meters,
  • or to an estimated consumption.
